Production Worker
We are currently looking for hardworking Production Workers who have the passion and dedication to play a vital role in our high-growth fish processing plant in Canton IL.
This is part-time work, Monday-Friday, hours vary usually 6 AM – 2:30 PM
Our Production Workers process and package seafood products by performing the following duties:

  • Sort product components (fish) by type and form.
  • Gut and Fillet Fish
  • Pack product in boxes ensuring correct products in each type of box.
  • Load Fish onto Racks.
  • Read ingredients from packets to insure accurate assembly.
  • Place labels on product and product in boxes.
  • Perform routine sanitation duties for production area and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Learn and demonstrate good manufacturing practices.
  • Weigh and sort product using basic math and reading skills.
  • Count, sort, and assemble product with a high degree of accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Ability to learn food safety and processing requirements.
  • Ability to learn food safety requirements.
  • Basic English reading and comprehension.
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand product labels and instructions in English.
  • May be required to complete simple forms or write basic information.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic, counting, and tracking functions in order to maintain appropriate inventory of product components.
  • Able to work in a team.
  • Able to learn new skills including, processing, inventory or food safety.
  • Able to work in a production environment against specific productively goals.
  • Able to assemble a variety of ingredients into a kit with a high degree of accuracy.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
  • Damp/Wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequent exposure to extreme cold.
  • Noise level in the work environment can be loud due to machinery used in production areas.
  • Regular requirement to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.
  • May be required to distinguish shades of color to identify abnormalities and/or defects in food products.
