Overview

Responsibilities

  • Help to coordinate special distributions and aid
  • Assist with Christmas sign-ups
  • Assist with special events during season
  • Assist with reporting to headquarters
  • Provide information and referral to other agencies
  • Assist with responsibility for kettle campaign
  • Help to compile Christmas brief
  • Assist in Christmas public relations
  • drive kettles to predetermined sites
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Perform other related and special duties as needed and assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Prior experience working in a fast paced office setting preferred. Must possess good oral and written communication skills. Must possess strong character and values. Must demonstrate compassion for those in need. Must be able to interact with the public and positively/effectively represent the organization and its mission within the community. Must be able to work both independently and as a team member. Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends also required. Must be proficient with MS Office products and demonstrate ability to use a computer. Must be able to pass Salvation Army background checks as applicable to the position.
 
Physical Demands/ Work Environment: This Position is required to do light to moderate physical work. In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the individual is regularly required to remain stationary for some periods of time, use hands and fingers, communicate, move, occasionally required to position self to stoop, kneel or crouch, frequently required to reach with and use arms and hands as required in using standard office equipment and a PC. Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to focus. The work environment for this position will be in the office but also driving to various locations. Moderate to loud noise levels at times due to amount of staff around. Individual will frequently lift up to twenty-five pounds and occasionally up to forty pounds.
